Chris holds bachelor’s degrees in visual arts, chemistry and biology. He obtained his Doctor of Medicine degree (MD) from the University of Colorado School of Medicine and completed otolaryngology residency at the University of Missouri School of Medicine.
During residency he frequently attended courses led by global experts in endoscopic sinus surgery, rhinoplasty, facial plastic surgery, facial trauma & reconstruction, skull base surgery, and allergy. After residency, he completed the Delaware Otologic Surgery & Medicine fellowship where he learned advanced otology, neurotology and stereotactic radiosurgery from Michael Teixido as well as the Institute for Cochlear Implant Training where he completed their 14-week advanced surgeons’ cochlear implant program. Due to the impact allergy has on many ear, nose and throat disorders, Chris completed an additional fellowship with the American Academy of Otolaryngic Allergy and hopes to bring allergy immunotherapy to the Hawke’s Bay region.
He is a diplomat of the American Board of Otolaryngology—Head and Neck Surgery. Chris enjoys practicing the full range of otolaryngology, teaching registrars and house officers, and bicycling to work at Kaweka Hospital. Chris feels lucky to work at Kaweka Hospital because of the extraordinary staff.
